When trying to upgrade our forums from phpbb2 to phpbb3 the programmer crashed our forums. They have been down for a month. We had our forums customized years ago which precludes us from upgrading without some work being done first. While doing this work our forums crashed. We need our forums back up and running so that our clients can communicate and continue their work. There is about 9 years of work/data that our clients have on these forums. This involves reversing what the previous programmer did, which they did live on our site. I have been told that the backup has too many tables in it to be able to restore. This doesn't make sense to me as our forums worked fine before they worked on it (with the same number of tables). Right now the error being displayed is that the the db's have crashed. I don't have much more information. I can provide the backup that the programmer tried to restore and a very old backup so that the setup of how it's supposed to be can be viewed. Once this project is completed I will be moving right into trying to get the forums updated again in the next project. I'd like to see the same person doing both.
