PbGunTrader is the next generation of buying, selling, and trading of paintball goods. All paintball enthusiasts will be able to gather at one place to buy, sell, or trade paintball related goods. With an advanced buy, sell, trade (B/S/T) system, paintballers will be able to sell their paintball guns and gear quickly and more effectively than anywhere else. With quick and easy to use listing features and a friendly community they will be able to get the most "bang for their buck." PbGunTrader will feature an auction styled B/S/T, coexisting with the friendly community forum, so that users can quickly find their item of choice. It will be well organized and user friendly. It will be easy for users to list their items and even easier to find them. Users will have advanced listing options which will allow users to bold ($.50) and/or sticky ($.10/12 hours, $1/3 days, $5/until sold) for (keep their auctions at the top of the page) their listings to increase views/page hits, add a "buy it now" option ($.05) for a quick and simple transactions (money only, no trading), request trades, and ways to pay or ship the item(s). Other users can also buy these upgrades for other users. While posting user's will have the option of using bbcode or secure HTML using a WYSIWYG editor. The preferred payment method will be electronic (paypal, credit cards[[login to view URL]] if phppostback or alternative) but users can choose money order, or drop off/pick up. All payments will be secure (SSL). If users want they can disable comments on their listing but users would be encouraged to enable it so the buyer will be able to get to know the seller and the item; hopefully then they will be able to meet up and paintball with their new equipment together. Users will also have an option to attach an image gallery. They may upload each image directly . After the auction is over all images, videos, and text will be compressed and archived to save bandwidth and disk-space costs and usage. If the user did not sell their item it will automatically be relisted unless instructed to do otherwise by the lister (only list for 7 days or other, then close). The listed can close their listing whenever they want. This system will look similar to the popular site called eBay, but it has a stronger community, is more personal and casual like the revolutionary c l. This advanced B/S/T auction and classified system will be written in PHP/PostgreSQL (mySQL, depending on server) and will use JavaScript/AJAX for auto-updating of text and images, among other features. It will integrate into the forum like [login to view URL]'s auction system with vBulletin (see mock screenshots for example). Most features will be free for users but some will be a small fee that will be charged via paypal or alternative. When a listing is completed each user involved in the trade will have the option of leaving feedback on the transaction. The person who listed the item will automatically be declared the lister (not seller), and the other party will be declared the trader. When an offer is accepted the listing will generate what the deal included (example: ITEM NAME traded for ITEM NAME (lister's name ↔ trader's name), ITEM NAME sold for $PRICE (lister's name ↔ buyer's name)) and the lister can close the listing if appropriate (bulk item sales will continue if all items not sold). A give feedback link will then be on the listing page for the appropriate users and also in the user's control panel where they see all the listings they have posted, all they have bid on, and all they have bought. When giving feedback you will be able to declare if they would do business with the other party again (aka positive), if they wouldn't do business with the other party again (aka negative); give a one sentence summery of the experience (80 characters); give a more indepth comment (350 characters); and then rate the user on different elements of the trade based out of 5 stars (shipping, communication, item as described, payment speed, etc). On top of this users will also be able to give users feedback on non-listed items such as topics and threads through the user's profile. On other forums this is called reputation or karma but PbGunTrader would also like to incorporate with the B/S/T feedback to produce a user rating. In the user's profile people can give comments. In addition user's can give User feedback (by clicking 'Give USERNAME user feedback'). User's can only give user feedback to the same user once, this is why feedback will be editable and deletable (still visible but whited out). B/S/T feedback is only editable for the first hour after posting; user feedback is editable forever. User feedback would not be a big part of the user rating as seen here: ((positive BST feedback / BST feedback) * 90) + ((positive user feedback / user feedback) * 10) User feedback is 10% of user rating The user rating will be seen by everyone ( USERNAME % (#of of total feedback) ). When a user receives positive B/S/T feedback it will not count towards their user rating until they send feedback in return. The feedback will be listed but will be grayed out. Users are not required to give user feedback. User rating will be searchable (+, -, user, BST) and all feedback will support bbcode and smilies. User's will also have the option of receiving emails when receiving feedback, receiving PMs, or both. User's receiving negative B/S/T feedback will have an option of replying to it to explain and will help in investigation if they report false feedback. Bulk item listings will be able to receive more than one feedback; however, only one per user. To make transactions safe PbGunTrader will host a 3rd party system for trading similar to escrow.com. The fee will be small ($5 minimum) but will increase ($1 for every $100 worth of items). To manage feedback, mods will have a feedback control panel which will work with the moderator control panel. This will only be used by the mods who have permission to use it. In the FCP mods can see reported feedback and can take the necessary actions to fix it. Deleted feedback is still visible but whited out. User's can manage their feedback and listings in their UCP. They can view current posted listings, listing they have bid on, and completed listings. All of it will be searchable. They can also see how their listings are doing, if the item is shipped (with link to tracking #), paid for, and if feedback has been given/recieved.
