We need a developer to check our paypal system to see if we need to upgrade it to TLS as per our recent email from paypal.
This is the email we received:
"""This is a reminder to upgrade your SSL 3.0 to Transport Layer Service (TLS), if you haven’t already done so.
With reference to our previous email, POODLE (Padding Oracle on Downgraded Legacy Encryption) is an internet security vulnerability that may be used by hackers to compromise personal information. You can read more about this issue on our blog. To safeguard both the interests of your business and your customers, we urge you to take action now.
At this time, we have seen no evidence that this issue has led to any security compromise at PayPal. However, keeping our customers’ accounts, data and money secure is our top priority, so PayPal will no longer support SSL 3.0 from [url removed, login to view] AEDST, 3 December 2014.
We recommend that you urgently check with your developer, shopping cart or gateway provider to ensure the integration is updated before 3 December 2014, so that you can continue to accept payments with PayPal.
We understand that upgrading your PayPal integration may be challenging at this busy time of year and we are here to help you through this process.
What do you need to do?
1. Test your current integration to see if you are using SSL 3.0 - if you are not sure how to test this, speak with your developer, or shopping cart or gateway provider.
2. If you are using SSL 3.0, you will need to arrange an upgrade to Transport Layer Service (TLS).
3. The Merchant Response Guide provides more information on determining if you are using SSL 3.0, along with basic guidelines on how to update to TLS.
If you require further assistance, please go to our Technical Support Portal and raise a ticket.
If you have already completed the upgrade, we thank you for taking prompt action.
