Firstly thank you for taking the time to look at this project.
I am not too sure how to price this as I don’t think it will be very difficult but maybe you will tell me otherwise?
I use a support script called Trellis Desk which is extremely good and does everything I need apart from invoicing/billing. I have looked at other scripts for this but cannot find any I like and many do far more than I need or are not flexible enough.
Since my clients all have account on my Trellis Desk (TD) I think my best option is to make an integrated ‘Invoices’ section also, which uses the same logins (i.e. user accounts) and is fully integrated (although not so much that it will cause problems if I upgrade TD at some point. My business is quite flexible as I work in some web design, business consultancy, hosting and mainly project/web presence management on a contract basis. As a result the system needs to be fairly flexible.
The plus side is that it does not need to link with paypal or any payment gateway as payment is already arranged by cheque etc.
Often each client has a number of users on the support site (TD) so I would need to be able to choose which users have access to their companies invoicing page – and in some cases more than one user from each client needs access.
So this is how I imagine it working; from the admin panel (which can be separate to the admin of TD) I set up the amount for the invoice and how often it is sent (this will be monthly, quarterly or yearly) then I set which users each invoice applies to. When the time comes for an invoice to be paid the users are automatically sent an email in advance with the invoice attached and they can also always view on their account when invoices will be due and I can mark from the admin page when they have been paid… you get the idea…
The most important thing is that from the client end at least, the invoice page is seamless with the rest of Trellis Desk and it looks the same etc.
There is a demo of Trellis Desk here [url removed, login to view] and you can download it here [url removed, login to view]
I expect everyone who bids on this project to have read the full brief and looked at the Trellis Desk files to see whether you are capable of doing what I am asking. I also expect a message outlining your proposal for the project so I know what I will be getting. I also expect you to have good English because communication is vital for this project – if you don’t do any of the above, or there are any major mistakes in the language of your bid/proposal, I will not consider you at all.
I look forward to working with a professional and capable programmer,
