i'm looking for a program that i can run from the MS DOS box that will connect to a site such as yahoo finance and download some stock quotes then save them to text files, yahoo provides both intra-day quotes (which can be accessed for several stocks simultaneously) and historical data that shows the specified stocks final figures for 'x' many days previously, but not the current data. so, i would like the program to mainly use the intraday quotes, but given that the data saved to the text files could easily become inaccurate if the program was not run every day, or was run early in the day before further changes in the prices occurred, it should correct for this by also (though less frequently) getting the historical data for each stock and using it to 'patch up' inaccuracies or omissions in the data files saved from the intraday quotes. also, as the intraday and historical data are in slightly different formats, the program would need to be able to compensate for this by standardising the data, such as where the historical data has a date but not time, where as the intraday data has both date and time included, so the program would need to add an entry to the historical data it was saving to the text file saying something like 'closed' or whatever in place of where the time would be. in the main that basically covers it, but i've included a longer version of this in the .zip file with more details on issues like exactly what options i would like to be able to set, what modifications would need to be made to the data between downloading / saving to the text file, and so on. finally, i would need the program compiled into an executable that i could run on both Windows 98 / Pentium, and a Windows XP / Pentium system, and also the full source code, if written in a language where the source and executable are not the same.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
