I need a Perl function that will make a thumbnail of 100x100 size and a white background (see attached example). If the image to to be converted is wider than tall, then there will be white on the top and bottom; if it is taller than wide, there will be whitespace on the sides.
Here is source code that does 95% of what I need:
die "Usage: [url removed, login to view] filename\n" if !-f $ARGV;
my $file = shift;
my $img = Imager->new();
$img->read(file=>$file) or die $img->errstr();
my $thumb = $img->scale(scalefactor=>.3);
$file =~ s/\.[^.]*$//;
$format = 'png';
print "Storing image as: $file\n";
$thumb->write(file=>$file) or die $thumb->errstr;
