I need a script for RedHat Linux 8.0 to monitor two specific processes and to kill if they are running longer than a specified time. It will be started at booting time and will check at every specified minute(s).
Please bid this project only if you have enough experience in writing scripts in RedHat Linux 8.0. Complete codes with instructions must be given.
I believe it's got to be a Perl script (i don't have much knowledge about this). I have two scripts, which keep spawning multiple processes. Even though they are supposed to be killed unless they are completed in processing, but for some reasons, they are not. For this reason, I need to run a script, may be as a cron job or may be not, which checks these two programs (possibly multiple instances running at any moment), finds out how long they have been running, and if they are older than a specified time, say one minute, then they should be killed by this new script.
If the system provides the starting time of each process, we can find how long it has been running. But if not, then you need to keep track of each process and to find out how long it has been running, and take an action.
