My project will be geared toward EA Sports Madden 2003. What I am looking to accomplish is to create a (web application) program that will use a roster of 32 teams (NFL) to run an online league and manage the teams in this league. My hope is that the program will be able to execute roster trades and pull game results from a text file located in a folder called “stats??. When trading each user will have an interface where they can send offers to each other and either accept or deny a trade. If accepted, players will swap teams and will be ready to use the next time each user loads the roster (dat file created by madden 2003). An updated roster will be available for download on each leagues site. This program will also track statistics from the same word text file that the game results appear on. The program will also be able to randomly injure players to make league play realistic. This can be done by randomly placing notices on the site so that we can make a player inactive for the period of time given by the application. My thoughts are that this application would be created through VB Script/ASP pages so that all users could report information to a central location on the web. All reported information will somehow put into reports and saved for the owner of the site. The application will also be able to create a play schedule for each team and read from a database in order to determine League leaders, Standings, and set up playoff brackets. The program will be good for one season. EA sports had a very similar feature to what I’m looking for in their 2002 version but removed it from the game for 2003.
