We need a script that will periodically check a directory for new text files, and if a new one exists open the newest file. It should then search the file for several strings of text and extract those strings along with the next 8 characters and insert them into an html document. At that point the newly created html document should be emailed to an address determined by one of the strings. To clarify what I want: 1)Check new directory for new file. 2)Open newest file. 3)Extract text from document 4)If none of several strings exists, then stop. If one of the strings is found, the continue the rest of the script using an html template determined by the string found (there will be no more than four or five). 5)Insert text into proper HTML template. 6)Email HTML doc, either to default recipient or to recipients determined by appearance of a given string in the document. (There will be no more than 10 possible recipients). We will make the html templates ourselves, however please provide a short sample showing how to insert the text. If you'd like a copy of our template we'll send one.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. Though, you would, of course be able to re-use the code.
The os is NT 4.0 workstation. The text files are OCR'ed faxes if this helps you improve on our proposed method.
