Job is to export the data from ms-sql / coldfusion database, into a mysql / symfonyPHP database. Both databases are finished, and both programs are finished. The mssql server's OS is MS, the mysql server OS is Linux.
This job was done once before, at the beginning of the project, but there was some important data missing. This meant that much of the data had to be corrected by hand, and that is too time-consuming. (I have attached the perl scripts that were used previously.)
Now it's the end of the project and we would like to perfect the transfer process. The cause of the complication is that ColdFusion forms were used in the old application, so the data tables are difficult to understand. Therefore it will be necessary to analyze the coldfusion code and in some cases transform the data. (I will give the code to the winning programmer)
The target mysql database is a well-made symfony php, fully completed. It will be required that you understand how to map the old data definition onto the new one, and to write the scripts which will do this automatically and perfectly.
1. scripts which will fully and correctly export data from mssql/CF to the target mysql db, preferably in one step, on the server. You can use the perl scripts that are attached as a starting point (you can continue in perl or in your favorite language).
2. install and run the data transfer on the new server.
3. to stay with the job until the end! That is when the data is fully exported and working correctly on the new server, in mysql.
