I'm looking to get user friendly software made that would help detect and get rid of viruses, spyware, malware, adware, and potential hijacking.
I believe that this would have to be desktop based, but if anyone knows of a way where this could be web based for the detection part of it (perhaps with something like Adobe Air), that'd be awesome but not necessary (not even sure if that's possible).
On top of this, you'd also have to have it integrated with virus / adware / spyware / malware / etc. definitions where the software could check each month for new updates. ? I believe there are several reputable definition databases out there, and I'd have no problem subscribing to them if you let me know the price of them if they could be easily integrated.
The software would be made with a demo version where anyone could do a search for free, and it would list off the number of potential viruses, spyware, malware, adware, etc. found. ? Then it would prompt them to buy it to actually remove them.
The hijacking search would be another feature of it where users would do a search where it would identify potential programs that could "hijack" a computer (programs that run automatically in the background). ? The demo version would just list the number of them found, whereas they'd be prompted to buy to actually identify them. ? Then it'd be up to them to remove potentially dangerous ones (as many of these programs would be legitimate and the users would most likely know).
In addition to creating the demo version of it, you'll need to make it so when they buy the full version or upgrade, there are two types of upgrades. ? One will be a flat fee which will not be connected to the monthly checks for the newest definitions (and if they get that one, it should prompt them regularly if they'd like to upgrade to the monthly updates one), while the second one will be a yearly subscription where it's connected to the monthly definition update database.
If you bid on this project, please let me know your experience in this area or your expertise here, as I know this isn't a regular project and many programmers won't know how to do such a project.
