Request a program to convert data from a Microsoft Word document in to excel. The final excel layout is specific (rows/columns). For example, each word page contains about 40 description fields with corresponding data elements that need to be captured and ordered in excel.
The number of pages in the word document can vary (anywhere from 5 or so to 100 or more). The layout of word pages are relatively consistent. The word document also contains several types of pages. Each type of page may have a different format but the format within a given type of page is the same. For example, a data page has the same format as any other data page and a summary page has the same format as any other type of summary page.
All of the information on each page of the word document must be converted to fit one row in the excel output file.
In summary, we have a program that produces information in a word document that is not user friendly. Instead of re-progamming the main program to meet our needs, we simply want to manipulate the output in to a user friendly excel file.
The program would also be preferable if it runs in word or excel so that an additional stand-alone program is not needed.
The enclosed excel output document is simply a guideline of the type of document we want. All data fields with descriptions should be captured.
Needs to run in Windows 2000 with Word 2003 and Excel 2003.
