I'm not very familiar with PHP and I think I'm dealing with an encrypted template php file. I am starting up a website using Joomla and there are two problems with it thus far.
1) There is a link to the template creator's website on my top menu and I need to delete this before I launch my website. This is in the drop down menu of the 'home' tab in the main menu. There are no articles in Joomla that publish this external link and I have no found it specifically in the php code. I used Aardvark to identify the link and it is identified as "a, id: menu500, class: first-item" There is no way to delete the home menu item in Joomla and create a new one. Additionally in the backend this external link is nowhere to be found.
2) There is a "Joomla" logo element in the header I need to delete. This seems like it would be an easy fix because generally all you have to do is go into CSS and edit the code to change the image directory with a new one, but again this element is nowhere to be found in CSS. The image itself is not located anywhere in my public html template folder. I thought then maybe this wasn't an image at all and possibly just text, but the text cannot be found in PHP, ICO, or any of the other coded files in the template folder. I used Aardvark again and it is identified as "a, class: logo"
This might be a lot easier than it sounds because I am no PHP guru, in fact I know nothing about PHP. Although, I am familiar with CSS and HTML. Let me know if you can fix either of these issues.
I would feel a little more comfortable allowing someone to work on my website if you give me a little bit of background on yourself. For example, tell me where you are from, your computer experience, maybe just some basic personal information.
