We have a SQL Server 2008 database that is part of a web based application. We have been having speed issues with the database and fixed a number of problems with session blocking but it is still running a bit slow. After doing some more research we found that our tables are badly fragmented and I read somewhere that defragging them can help performance.
However, I have never done this before and do not know if this can hose the database. So I was hoping to hire someone with experience in this kind of thing with a web based application to help us maintenance and defrag the database correctly. Hopefully, this will result in a performance increase.
If you are interested in this, please explain what experience you have and how you would propose to help.
