We need a professional programmer to create a CMS script for a coupon/deal site similar to bradsdeals.com.
We have an existing and basic HTML site that we need migrated over into an easy-to-use and manage CMS format (tableless CSS is also important). Brower-based admin section and intuitive interface are a must. Will need help uploading to server (open to web host suggestions – though we have an existing web host) and thorough testing is needed. Would prefer to work with someone who has completed this type of project before, and can show us a demo of the script prior to selecting a bidder. Timeline is ASAP.
Below is a snapshot of what we’re trying to achieve; however, if you have a different solution that you think would work better, please let us know. We’re open to your professional recommendations.
On EVERY page:
Main Navigation would include Home, Coupons, Deals and Stores.
Top Navigation (located small at top right) would include 4 links (need to be able to add new links easily as well as change content in all links).
Bottom Navigation would include all links in top navigation and main navigation, plus additional links as necessary (again, would need to be able to add new pages freely).
Sidebar Navigation – This would modify slightly depending on what page shoppers were accessing (more detail below).
Email sign-up – place for shoppers to enter email address for notification of new deals and coupons (After entering email address and pressing sign-up, this would take shoppers to another page with a short form. Shoppers’ email address would be auto-filled, and we would ask them for a few additional details such as frequency of email alerts – weekly or biweekly – zip code, first name, how they learned about our site with drop-down of choices.)
3 column layout
1st column (from left) is sidebar navigation containing many of same features on [url removed, login to view] including drop-down menu of the stores and list of categories.
2nd column (middle) would feature Top Deals (which could be sorted by store or category per the sidebar navigation in 1st column).
3rd column (right) would feature Top Coupons (which could be sorted by store or category per the sidebar navigation in 1st column).
By default, page would list all available coupons by popularity (by clicks) or alphabetically. Shoppers could then sort by store or category using sidebar navigation. Coupons would be listed in center column. Right-hand column would list New Coupons and Expired Coupons. For New Coupons, all new coupon entries would appear here for 48 hours after entry and then automatically move to appropriate location by store or category. For Expiring Coupons, coupons would appear here 2 days prior to expiration (system would email us or alert us of all expiring coupons). Want system set up to delete expired coupons so site only features available coupons, if this is possible.
If store does not have any coupons associated with it, we would like the store’s landing page to automatically say “No coupons or deals at this time.”
By default, page would list all available deals by the date the deal was entered. Shoppers could then sort by store or category using sidebar navigation. Ideally, each deal would have expiration date, so deals could be set up to be deleted upon expiration. Unknown expiration dates would remain on system and could be deleted manually by admin.
If store does not have any deals associated with it, we would like that store’s landing page to automatically say “No coupons or deals at this time.”
By default, this page would list all store logos alphabetically. Then with sidebar navigation, shoppers could sort through stores in a number of ways: 1) by category, 2) by Gay-Owned, and 3) by Gay-Friendly. (This means of course that there needs to be some way for us to ‘tag’ each store as either gay-owned or gay-friendly as we go along.)
When specific store is selected, it will take shoppers to that store’s page showing all applicable coupons (and other links) and deals – just like on bradsdeals.com.
Must be able to update site easily, adding links and content using a clean, well designed browser-based interface.
The stores identified as gay-owned or gay-friendly will have a specific visual image icon that needs to appear next to the store and in deals and coupons, so please create a way for us to add these icons in automatically. Any store not fitting into this category will not have an icon.
Also would need help developing a few basic forms for the site.
EMAIL alerts and other
Through signups for email alerts, we will be collecting shopper information through the site mostly in the form of email addresses. Need seamless way to manage email addresses and automatically send out emails to distribution list based on email alert frequency selected.
SPECIAL FUNCTION NEEDED – Advertiser Section
We also want an advertiser portal worked into the system, wherein certain advertisers can sign-up to be featured in the site’s marketplace. We would need to integrate PayPal into this section, as these advertisers would pay to be added to the marketplace. However, we want the ability for advertisers to be able to enter a coupon code for 3-6 months free, so we need to be able to manage that function as well.
Advertisers would provide specific information that would not appear in their listing (such as company address, rep name, email address, phone number, etc.) but we would need to capture and manage this information in their account.
Certain advertiser information would appear in our marketplace, including company name, logo, 50 word description (to appear on that store’s landing page) , and coupons (plus URL to send them to advertiser’s website). Advertisers would submit a minimum of 1 coupon and a max of 5 associated with their store.
Upon submission by advertiser, this information would go into a queue for us administrators to review. Once we reviewed and approved the coupon and listing info, we would push this information “live” and it would automatically appear on the site in the appropriate places (category, coupons, stores, etc.).
This is meant to be an outline of what we would like to achieve, but we are open to your suggestions. Undoubtedly, there will be other details to work out, and we can assure you that we’ll be available work through all details in an efficient manner.
We also want to be able to incorporate Google ads onto every page, as space permits.
