I have an eBay sniping website that was just created but not completed. The sniping function isn't working properly. It successfully executes snipes maybe 1 out of 5 times they are scheduled. Also, the eBay search feature isn't working properly and that also has worked in the past, but I've only seen it work on a Cpanel server so I don't know if it's a problem with my server or the script. I have the script installed on a clustered server set-up right now, which doesn't have Cpanel. The programmer who created the script said that there is a problem between the Crontab feature on my server and the script (causing the sniper engine not to work properly), and on a Cpanel host, the script would work fine. As I mentioned though, a couple of snipes were successfully executed on my server, so?
It looks like Curl is used with the script. I've seen the word "Curl" while looking through it, but I'm not sure.
I've looked through some of the PHP files, ones with "Curl" mentioned in them, had lines of code that may be encrypted (unless that's how Curl code looks)? When looking through other files, I didn't see any encrypted code but I think some of the important files are.
I have a Cpanel hosting account that I want the script installed on. I then want to test it to see if it works, if not, I needed fixed.
This might be just an installation job, or it might be modifying or even creating a sniper engine code, I really don't know.
I suppose if the script did not work after installed, you would then have to identify which files might be causing the problem and modify or re-create them. Unfortunately, the script does not have commenting, but I imagine a good programmer could figure out which files do what rather quickly.
Ultimately, I would like to have full commenting within each PHP file and any documentation outside of the files if needed for future modifications.
The most important thing for now though is to get the site working properly.
I may add more to this description when I figure out what it is I need to add.
I don't have a lot of money to spend on this project because I've already paid for the script to be completed and installed, but obviously it isn't.
Because I've already been screwed once with this project, I want to see the completed job work perfectly before paying. I can't afford to pay more than $200 for this, I've already paid more than twice that for this uncompleted(but was supposed to be completed script). I can't really afford that, but the script is worthless to me as is.
I understand this is a tough project to bid on, I just don't know what will be involved. Fixing the eBay search feature should be simple I'm thinking. The most important feature, the sniping feature, I don't know. But if it works fine on the Cpanel server, that may be all there is to it, a script installation.
