We offer streaming video content in 15 minute chunks at 3 different camera angles. We need to allow the end user to switch between camera angles as they choose. This switch needs to happen seamlessly with minimal buffer time because there is music streaming as well.
We already have the scripting necessary to stream the 3 angles as we want, the issue now is how to archive the content for quick retreival on demand. There are resource considerations, scripting for a queue system for customer requests, administrative module scripting, etc.
We are running PHPNuke 6.5 and ideally this will be a module format. We want to stay away from iframes. We use htaccess for password protection and iBill for merchand / password management.
Most important, the end user can't have the ability to download the content.
The user logs in and goes to the archive, sees a clip he wants to see and clicks on it. The script either plays it if he's the only viewer or adds it to the end of the queue, letting him know exactly how much time left until it plays. During play, he has the option of switching camera angles but not able to jump around within the timeline. Our last programmers were exploring the use of Nullsoft's NSV file format as a solution, but their video expertise fell short. Raw video from our devices is WMV format, but we are aware that there are unacceptible limitations to the MS formats.
We need web developers who can write the scripts in PHP for Nuke compatibility and who are video experts. A package software solution is welcome if it has the features and functionality we are seeking.
