We are seeking an effective website copying software to download youtube videos along with website content. The best open source website copier that we know is HTTRACK. Therefore, we are interested to retain someone to enable it to download youtube videos.
Since there seem to be many available Youtube downloaders (see: [url removed, login to view]), perhaps a script could be added to HTTrack so it will run one of these downloaders and instructed it to download a selected video into a designated directory on the local hard-drive. Then HTTrack would be programmed to updated the link on the webpage so it pointed to this file instead on youtube.
If the final copied version layout does not look exactly like the online version, it is no problem. It is most important to have the video working offline and accessible by the existing link.
We want to download educational videos that are linked to selected websites. If needed, an open source video player like VLC could be used to play the videos.
In addition, please enable HTTRACK to download MP3 files from from websites such as the open source english language course called 1-Language (http://www.1-language.com/). Currently this does not work. Here is an example link: http://www.1-language.com/audiocourse/unit1_introductions1_qu.htm .
Another problem that we would like fixed is that HTTRACK does not seem to show submenus correctly that are generated by Joomla. For example, see the eStation menu at http://www.thinkrenewables.com/estations. It is not necessary to fix this but if it could done, this would be preferred.
