Promotion tracking and usage website. Create a simple database that allows an admin to log in and input various data points about available promos, coupon and/or discounts available from various companies on the web. This project will entail work in the following two sections which will later be incorporated into a larger website template.
The two sections will be an Admin Section and a Members Section:
(1) ADMIN SECTION:
This section is for the input and maintenance of new information regarding promos, coupons etc for various companies/products.….
The admin section will have:
1. A list of companies that have made various promos/coupons available for their customers.
1a. The ability to select an \"Add\" button which allows a new company to be entered into the list of companies that are tracked.
2. Once a company is selected in step 1, The ability to then select a category by clicking on available categories for promos associated with said company etc.
2a. The ability to select an \"Add\" button which allows a new category to be entered into the list of categories that are tracked.
3. Select a Promo type by clicking on available promo type etc.
3a. The ability to select an \"Add\" button which allows a new promo type to be entered into the list of promo types that are tracked.
4. Select a Promo Code by clicking on available promo/coupon code.
4a. The ability to select an \"Add\" button which allows a new promo/coupon code to be entered into the list of promo types that are tracked.
4b. The ability to enter a number associated with the number of times that particular code can be used. By default all codes will be single use (1) unless specified otherwise using this field.
4c. The ability to enter an expiration date associated with the promo/coupon code. By default all codes will NOT expire unless a specific expiry date is selected.
(2) MEMBERS SECTION
This section is laid out with a center browser window sandwiched by two smaller columns, one on either side of the browser. The left hand side of the layout has a column labeled “Available Promo Codes”. Each promo code in the list should be labeled with the corresponding discount level of the promo i.e, $35.00 for an item cost of $35.00 or a percentage such as 35% which signifies the percentage of the discount over the actual price.
This section is for searching for various available promos, coupons etc. and using that found information by auto-filling in an input field in a shopping cart or other function where a coupon/promo might be used. When the user clicks on the available Promo code/coupon, the program should parse the current browser window and search for an available field used for Promo codes/Coupons etc. Once the code is automatically inserted into a field in the shopping cart, the code should also immediately be removed from the “Available” code list to a “Used” code list. In the case of a promo code that is good for multiple uses, each time the code is used that said percentage of coded box will become divided and shaded at the same increment as the sales availability of the code.
A separate Reports Section will show various reports including cost-over savings, and year over year savings etc and more
##Special note for Bidding##
In this first version of this project the automatic filling in of the form in a field recognized as a “Enter Promo Code” field may be done manually by selecting the Code from a list by clicking on it and then being able to paste it manually into the Promo code field. Once the code is pasted into a “Enter Promo Code” Field, it should immediately be removed from list of available codes and placed into a separate list of “Used” Codes.
