The residents are looking for bids on a landscaping design plan for a century-old converted carriage house near the New Jerseyshore in Rumson. The front, back and side yards are approximately 1.5 acres (65,000 square feet). The land is already landscaped, and the residents would like to use as much of the existing plants (trees, shrubs, perennials, etc.) as possible; they mainly want to enhance and improve what they have. The plan should be appropriate for a 1890 structure ??" more traditional than modern. The plants should be environmentally friendly and organic, given that the couple lives near a protected river. The plants should also be native to the area and require as little watering as possible, given that they don't have an irrigation system. The plan should include an herb garden; an improved backyard patio area; and a way to block the neighbors' view of the pool with a hedge or other plantings. The couple will provide more details about their desires once they have bids in hand. Their budget for the landscaping work (plants, other materials and labor) is no more than $15,000 at the very most, and hopefully much less.
This project must be completed as soon as possible -- or no later than Tuesday May 15. Thank you.
