I need a program that can log into the [url removed, login to view] network using the Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction client using a realm character (character stored on [url removed, login to view]'s servers), join a game, and send text messages in the game.
At this point, the program only needs to be able to send text messages in the game; I will add in the code required to receive messages from other clients after the project is complete and the coder has been credited. Information such as character movement, positions of objects/players/NPCs is NOT required nor needed. This program must be clientless, meaning that the game client itself must NOT be needed to operate it. All packets sent and received should be handled by the program, NOT the game client.
This program should be very basic... I just need it to work, since I will be doing a fairly heavy modification to it in terms of interface and additional features. I have a fair amount of knowledge with [url removed, login to view] and its ports and packets, so I should be able to answer some questions concerning this projects technical aspects, and I can provide example code (to some extent), including a packet buffer (Class Module) and hashing algorithms, example bots that connect to [url removed, login to view] using various clients, hashes, websites that are a great resource for some of the packets (both Server->Client and Client->Server). Not all of the packets and other aspects of this project will be available in the resources and codes that I provide - you will need to find some of it on your own.
Again, this project shouldn't have any polishes - I started working on this and got stuck, so I scraped what I had. It just needs to be in VB 6.0 so that I can understand it, and make use of it. No real interface is needed either, unless the coder feels that they want to add a Rich Text Box to display information about the programs status.
