We have a database in MS Access with dates and times in. What I would like to do is to create a VB 6 application to scan for free appointment slots.
For example, the database table contains:-
date date & time Type Duration
13/4/07 13/4/07 12:00:00 Aptment 00:10:00
13/4/07 13/4/07 12:30:00 Aptment 00:20:00
13/4/07 13/4/07 12:50:00 Aptment 00:10:00
13/4/07 13/4/07 13:00:00 Aptment 00:30:00
(The date, date&Time and Duration are all Date/Time format fields)
So from the above, the 1st appointment is a 10 minute duration, the 2nd is 20 minutes, the 3rd 10 minutes, and so on.
There is an empty appointment slot between 12:10 and 12:30, as the 12:00 appointment is only 10 minutes duration.
The VB application will receive notification that someone has requested an appointment on 13/4/07 either morning or afternoon and needs a 10 minute appointment, It will then check which times available. It will then automatically fill the empty appointment slot (morning if requested or afternoon if requested).
Further information is available if required.
