I'm an inexperienced programmer so bear with me... I'm working on a prog using VB6. It's kind of a stock and order management system, connecting to an Access db. The program is *supposed* to allow the insertion and manipulation of records into the database using ADO. Everything was working fine before I changed the appearance and layout of all the forms (so haven't altered the original code just messed about with properties). But now, all of a sudden I am having problems. I can still connect to the db to view records, but it won't allow me to update/delete records anymore using the [url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view] methods. This occurs in all forms connecting to the db. The error that comes up when i try to modify a record is runtime error '-2147467259 (80004005)': Operation must use an updateable query. I am so confused as this was working fine before and my connection string etc has stayed the same. I am happy to post the program if somebody is sure they can help with this, as I can't find a logical explanation, especially as the program was working perfectly before.
To be able to save amended and new records to the existing database, and to delete records, with no serious modifications to the existing program and database (unless absolutely necessary). Check database for design errors (amend if necessary). A bug and error check throughout the rest of the program.
