I have a program that makes an entry in an MS Access database when a Mail message is received in Outlook.
This is a VBA script which fires on the ItemAdd event on the olInbox. This in turn runs a VB dll which searches for the senders eMail address in a contact table in the database and if it finds it adds an entry to a log table.
This works fine except when the database gets big and a second eMail arrives before the VBA Script and dll have finished processing the first message.
When this happens the ItemAdd doesnt seem to fire, I we lose the update.
Can you suggest a way of pursuading Outlook to fire the AddItem event even when it hasnt finished the previous one; or suggest another way of doing altogether.
