The program must be capable of: (1.) Allowing the User to input a picture file (JPEG, BMP, etc...) into a Picture Box. (2.) Compiling the picture information into a standard 256b color format. (3.) The Picture Box must be sizeable via 1 of 2 Text Boxes to identify EITHER picture width OR height (not both). The inserted picture's properties are to be kept in proportion no matter what the user defines for either width or height. Label captions should be used to indicate both width and height. Only ONE entry, either width or height is allowed; when data is entered into one box, the other box is to be disabled. (4.) The total number of "color spaces" is to be determined by the (length * width) value (ie: 48 * 25 = 1200 "spaces". "Spaces" are relative to inches. Ultimately "One space" is to equal in reality a 1" x 1" square. (5.) The program will then identify the colored "1" x 1" spaces" by numbered location, from #1 to the last (from Left to Right, from Top to Bottom) of the picture, and identify the color number (from 1-256), THEN total the number for each of the colored spaces identified in the picture and write the info at the end of the text file. It must also allow the User to name the Text file via a Text Box, and allow the user to save the text file (*.txt). (6.) Program will display the appearance of the NEW 256 color picture into a seperate, IDENTICALLY SIZED Picture Box.
