We currently have an employee monitoring program that runs as a standard exe with no user interface. It was written in VB.
The function of this program is to relay information back to a central database.
Whilst we can hide the application from the Task List, the program can still be seen in process manager and subsequently killed.
We would like a way to prevent this app from being killed by the user. Various options have been suggested such as:
1. Hiding from process list (possibly cant be done)
2. Running the app as "SYSTEM" so the "Access Denied" message appears
We do not want to run the program as a service.
The program needs to close whenever the user logs off so any solution that has the program running with no user logged in is not suitable.
A simple executable program that cannot be killed in task manager. The executable doesnt need to do anything, jyst be able to demonstrate that it cant be killed.
2) Exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site).
THE SOLUTION WE REQUIRE MUST BE COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS NT4, WINDOWS 2000, WINDOWS XP and WINDOWS SERVER 2003. IT DOES NOT NEED TO WORK ON WINDOWS 9X/ME.
MINIMUM SERVICE PACK STIPULATION FOR WINDOWS NT4 IS ACCEPTABLE.
