Public Library Application -Our current database is a DOS based system. We require a new Windows XP based application and to convert the old information from the existing database into the new application. Most people know how a library works. This will automate a lot of a library adminitrative funtions. It will track patron and library asset information. It will check out, return, renew and hold assets for patrons. It will track overdue items and administer fines. It will provide reports and needs to be able to gather a wide variety of statistical information. please see attached files for detailed information. I have include all .dbf files in existing database, However, most of the information is contained in approx. 15 files. I can help you identify the specific files if needed. I have found that Access 97 will open these .dbf files. I have had no luck with access 2000.
Deliverables would include: [url removed, login to view] functional program files for use with Windows XP. The delivered application must be compatible with the existing barcode numbering system used in the existing database. The application must be able to function as fast as a librarian can scan the materials. [url removed, login to view] converted data files from a up-to date copy of the existing database with a means to load the information in to the new database application. I have incluced the .DBF files from the existing database. These files are for bidding purposes. An up to date copy of the existing database will be provided when the new application is ready for delivery. 3. User manual that includes: a. System requirements b. Installation procedures c. Setup procedures d. Program preferences and options - should be explained as to what they do and how to use. e. Special file requirements and where the files have to be located if required to be in a specific directory. f. Security features and how to use them. g. Back-up and restoral features and procedures. h. List of error codes, what they mean, and how to correct them. 4. Printed copy of all source code. 5. All rights to copyright is that of the buyer. 6. All rights to change or modify the application at a later date is reserved by the buyer.
