I have some great source code that lists/enumerates USB ports on a computer, except I only want to find specific info and there is a lot of code to dig through to extract it. Specifically I'm interested in just finding out what version of USB ports the computer has, either 1.1 or 2.0, right? So if you search for "USB Specification release: " in the source code, you'll see the information I'm looking for. On my system it says 2.0. And it seems as if on a 1.1 USB system, it doesn't ever show "USB Specification release: " in the resulting Tree View control. I'd like the new project to only be a stripped down sample app. that perhaps includes a function like: Private Function USBVersion() as String The output could be either "2.0", "1.1" or "None" (if no USB ports are found). Now, if a computer has both 1.1 and 2.0, the function should show the highest version USB port installed, which would be 2.0. There should be no tree view in the sample project and no references to it. I need this stripped down to the bare necessities just to get the highest USB version supported. Please take a look at the attached source code! I could probably do this, but I'm looking for someone who is faster than me and can save me some time. Hopefully you have access to a couple systems to test on, but if not I can test it for you.
