Customers are given a barcoded game card.
The customer scans their game card at the kiosk.
Depending on what barcode they have, the kiosk will then print out a prize reciept.
a) Display of an Full Screen attraction screen ( a jpg or gif). This screen will say something like, "Scan your card here".
b) Display of a second screen that is activated by the card scanning. This screen will say something like: "Thank you. Your prize receipt is being printed".
c) After a preset time has passed, the screen will then return back to the attraction screen.
d) When the second screen is displayed above (b), a command is sent to the printer to print a specific prize receipt. This would need to occur in the background, so that all the customer sees is the Screen b) above
The barcoded card is simply sending a series of keystrokes to the computer. For example..barcode card variation #1 sends the commands ALT V to the computer. This will tell the computer to start the screen sequence and to print out prize receipt version #1. If barcode card variation #2 was scanned, then this would send the command ALT N to the computer, which would print out prize receipt variation #2.
a) Printing dependant on time. ie. If card #1 is scanned between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m., prize receipt version #1 is printed. If the same card is scanned from 11:01 until 3:00 p.m., then prize receipt version #1a is printed. The purpose of this is so that I can change the advertising message on the prize
receipt, depending on time. For example, I have set up the kiosk at a trade show. The tradeshow wants to use the prize receipt to advertise an event that is occuring at Noon. Then, after noon, they want to switch to advertising a different event. Hence the need to have the same keystroke
combination resulting in a different prize receipt variation, dependant on time.
The resulting code should allow me to make changes easily, such as changing attraction screen, and if possible, even include a feature tp design each prize receipt. (Prize receipts will need to display a logo and prize information). If this is not possible, then simply sending a command to print a receipt which I have laid out in Microsoft word would be fine.
