I have a small project for a simple MS Access 2002 database. Operating system is XP professional. Database consists of 2 tables with 4 fields each with the same field names. One table has all the data; some 100 records. The other table has one record; it will be a temporary holding record. Table1 Name =tblNoteData and Table2 = tblTempNote Database name = Notes Id = auto number Indexed no duplicates txtItem = text 40 char Indexed no duplicates txtDesc1 = text 255 char Not indexed txtDesc2 = memo 1024+char Not indexed Text and Memo fields will be miscellaneous text. Names of Combo and Text boxes is immaterial. Size text boxes to fit on screen. Form1 has a Combo Box that selects the txtItem from the database. Using the “After_Update?? property or whatever property you select, after the txtItem is selected from the Combo Box, the txtDesc1 and txtDesc2 are the displayed in text boxes on the form below the Combo Box. I was unable to get more that 255 characters to display for the txtDesc2 field (Memo). I was also unable to edit data to the txtItem field in the Combo Box. The txtDesc1 and txtDesc2 fields were also restricted to display only; neither field would allow editing. Correcting the editing problem may involve using another form. I would like to create items of code for the following conditions: 1. If possible, create code using one form with command buttons that display the records with editing features ??" using a command button create a new entry ??" using another command button delete the selected entry ??" another command button that exits the form (app). 2. If #1 is not possible,( i.e., using one form), create one form having only a Combo Box that allows edits and the second form having two fields that allow editing of the text fields. There should be no truncating of the Memo to 255 characters. Also needed then would be a form for additions and deletions. 3. The code above should be written if possible in 2 ways. One using a DAO system and the other without DAO. If this is not possible please explain why. 4. The other part of the project uses the temporary table (tblTempNote) that holds the selected record for later use. The records in this case would contain more data fields, but the extra fields aren’t used in this section of the project. This code and forms should also add, edit, and delete records for items 1 and 2 above. Any questions please contact buyer.
