I am looking for a simple Tape restore program which must run on Windows 2000/xp.
The program must be able to:
restore files from a SCSI tape device.
I want this program to restore backup tapes from almost any source - ArcServe, Sytos Plus, Mountain backup, NT Backup, Backup Express, Unix, VAX/VMS backup or any other formats.
I am mainly interested in restoring ArcServe formats but the ablility to resore all formats as stated above is requested as well.
THis program will read the tapes, and the restore process should be extremely simple. The type of tape should be recognized automatically, and either a directory of the original files will be displayed or an option to restore the entire file may be given. Typically all subdirectories and full-length file names will be retained. Have a very simple standard interface and no knowledge of the original backup package should be required.
Program must create a log file to store all the actions / errors. Log file may be overwritten on each execution.
error handling no tape , bad media etc etc
Standard 32-bit Windows interface
Compatible with most leading tape drives
Restore files and datasets from virtually any logical tape format, including proprietary computer Systems Scan and analyze unknown tapes
Automatic format recognition feature
