Well, unfortunately, I got burned REALLY badly by a provider who said they knew what they were doing in OsCommerce. :(
I, myself, do okay in OsCommerce, but I was working on a few things that I felt were just a little bit above my experience, so I decided to hire someone to help. And they screwed several things up in the process.
I am looking for someone who is DEFINITELY very experienced in OSC. Please do not try to use me to gain experience -- that's how I got burned just recently.
I have a site that is LIVE. I have restored the functions to an operational level (as much as I can).
You must understand what it means to work on a LIVE store -- that if you start working on a component, you can't just leave it broken overnight -- you have to fix it or restore it to a working condition.
WHAT NEEDS FIXING:
1. SMS Order Notification module was working perfectly, now doesn't work. Possibly related to checkout function problem that was created (see below).
2. Specials page used to have a message that came up when there were no specials, that has vanished.
3. THE TOUGH STUFF:
I have a JavaScript rollover feature that has been on the site for weeks. Allows user to mouse over a color swatch and the product image changes. Works great.
This last person was retained to install QT Pro (Quantity Tracker Pro) contribution. She installed it. However, it caused multiple problems.
Right now, if you select pink gloves, they show up in your shopping cart as white gloves -- can't seem to select the right color. This was some conflict between the two scripts. She told me it was fixed. It is not.
Also, when she abandoned the job (because it was apparently over her head), suddenly the checkout process had major errors. The checkout process does contain pieces of code to adjust inventory through QT Pro. Using the error messages, I was receiving, I commented out a few ELSE { and } commands until the site now processes payment correctly.
I need someone who can troubleshoot the checkout code and ensure that (a) the payment processing continues to work correctly, while (b) making sure the inventory management features of QT Pro are working as well.
If you are well skilled in PHP and OsCommerce, I don't suspect this work would take too long. I have multiple versions of the changed files that you can compare and take a look at.
Looking to spend no more than $60 and have this work completed within 3 days.
Thanks,
Terrence
