We currently offer the use a personalized version of a 3rd party financial webservice to our customers. On this site they can keep track of their financials and do some basic calculations. For this service all we control is:
1. the login page, which has a simple sign-in form that calls the 3rd party provider (ABC) login script. We can do anything we like with this page, such as setting our own script in between the login data and the ABC login script.
2. We control the exit link at sign out. If a user signs out he is directed to a page of our chosing. We could also run a script on this page.
3. We control some of the CSS underlying the service, mainly to give it our company style.
The supplier of the service does not want to cooperate in any way.
At the moment we are also developing proprietary webservices. It would be great if we could avoid asking our users to log in once for our own applications and once more for this webservice.
So what we need is a way to integrate the login in such a way that they only need to login once.
I would love to hear your thoughts.
