I am a Windows OS administrator and I have to deal with thousands of files and folders. I am not a superb programmer but I code many scripts for system admninistration and sometimes I develop small (but useful) applications to deal with files, folders, registry, network, and so on... By now, I need to get an ActiveX Component, callable from any ActiveX/COM-compatible language (such as VBScript, VB6, VBA, AutoIt, WinBatch and many others). You can code this ActiveX Component in any language you want, however I would prefer VB6. The concise documentation (how to call objects, methods, proprieties and so on) and the example/sample files MUST refer to VBSCRIPT. Features: [FILES AND FOLDERS' TOOLS] *) Total RECURSIVE capability (search all folders, subfolders, subsubfolders, from a main path I specify from my script/code) [option to activate or deactiavte the recursive mode through a "parameter"/"flag"/"argument"/"option"...]. *) FILES AND/OR FOLFERS => Copy, Delete, Move, Rename or List-only (like MS-DOS « dir » or Unix « ls » [recursive option; wildcards and regular expressions to manage the rules). *) Other Functions: "Get Total Number of Files/ Folders", "Get Total Number of SubFolders", "Maximum Directory Depth", "Largest/Smallest File/File Size", "Total Main SubFolder's Size", "Total Size of Each Main SubFolder (Depth = 1)", "Total Number of Different File Extensions" ([url removed, login to view]), "Most/Less Frequent File Extension", "Total Number of Files Which Extension is not Associated with «Open with», "Total Number of Binary/Text Files", "Maximum/Minimum/Average File Name Length", "Most/Least Frequent File Attribute", "Newest/Oldest/Average (Date) Created/Accessed/Modified File/Folder" To get some inspiration, give a look at: [url removed, login to view] ["Simpli-File Statistics" - it has some of these features] If you have doubts, just let me know! By communication we will understand each other, I am sure!
