PLEASE VIEW THE ENCLOSED PDF FOR MORE DETAILS! Background I teach at a university and some of the exams are made on laptop. Students use software on the laptop, write there exams on laptop, and hand in their exam electronically over the (wireless) connection. There is a certain risk of fraude: this is why students are not allowed to connect to the (wifi) internet or to each other via msn, bluetooth, or any other means, and moreover not allowed to use any other applications than a given set (say, only Word), but this is hard to control. One solution to this is to record the screen during the exam session. In principle, students could do that themselves using, for instance, Windows Media Encoder. However, I do not want to burden the students with having to startup WME and making sure that it is all working nicely. What I want What I need is a simple “fool-proof?? app that, simply by clicking a button, will record the screen and writes the file to the desktop. After starting the app and entering their name and student number, a student should not be able to click more than two buttons: “Start Screen Recording?? and “Stop Screen Recording??. The app should save the file using the name of the student and the date and time, and create a file that is password protected in such a way that the student himself cannot open the recording, but I can (using some kind of master password). Students can then themselves mail the saved file. While running, the screen of the pc/laptop should show a visible (and not easily copied sign) that the program is running (say, a yellow circle that is always on top in the top right corner of the screen). This is necessary so that during exams the teachers can see from a reasonable distance that students have the app switched on. ... more in the enclosed pdf ...>
