I like to have a small editor for windows-environment (NT4) that is doing all the same as for example Notepad: dealing with unformated text-files (ANSI/ASCII) with two special exceptions: 1. rigidlly disabled "insert"-function on typing meaning: - new lines : yes - new pages: yes - new letters: no - just overwriting or inserted blanks 2. some areas of text have to be marked as "visible but not printing" - printing blanks as substitute Idea in behind: making text-files to fill in forms (but not use special form-software), an editor only, using the fixed (non-proportional) fonts of windows. There are some gimmicks I like to have in the future. However, at the beginning: the un-disabled function of overwriting. Knowledge in building an editor aswell as re-use open-source/freeware is recommended - german as language would be great. I have in mind to make it free available later on. Martin
