A Multi-room Home Music System. The system consists of a centralized server in the home with tablet touchscreen pc's in each of the rooms. These will communicate with the server via the Wifi standard. The server will store music (ripped from cds) as .wav files. I do not want to comprimise quality and therefore no compression will be used. When a CD is ripped it will grab track names and info from the CDDB datbase. All entired will be stored in a local database (ie. artist, track, label, genre, conductor, year etc) that way I have complete control over my search. The software will also function as a player (allowing me to select which rooms in the house I want to play to - and ofcourse different rooms can have different things playing at the same time - this is done with the use of a multiple output sound card in the server.) I want to be able to create playlists also. I want a nice sleek interface as it has to be easy to use by the whole family. This is a basic description. I can get more in depth with anyone interested in such a project. I haven't decided on a budget thus far, but I do have money set aside for this project.
Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
Ideally, the software would work on Windows Xp, as the tablet PC's will run a special version of this.
