NOTE: Please read this completely, I need someone who knows what they are doing with this and can absolutely solve my problem. I do not have time to try out solutions from someone who is also just beginning to learn the syntax for psexec through a network.
I have a small network running with three separate computer systems all running Windows XP. I am trying to use one computer to execute a batch file that will send commands to the other two computers connected to it.
The batch file ONLY needs to do the following:
Successfully trigger specific batch files located on the two remote computers, so that those systems can run the commands they need to run.
Each individual computer needs to run a batch file that copies the contents of one folder to another (on that system, not to another), and then starts a particular program.
I am having difficulty with the commands using psexec to trigger the batch files. I have the folder copying and program triggering correct in the batch file here:
xcopy "D:\MY_PROJECT_FOLDER" D:\MY_TARGET_DIRECTORY" /S /E /Y
start "" "D:\[url removed, login to view]"
I just need to be able to configure the psexec commands to start the batch files on the other two systems, and add that code to my batch file. The syntax for psexec is:
usage: [\\computer[,computer[,...] | @file][-u user [-p psswd]][-n s][-l][-s|-e][-i [session]][-c [-f|-v]][-d][-w directory][-<priority>][-a n,n,...>] cmd [arguments]
I am looking for someone who knows what they are doing with this, please contact me if so. It would be VERY helpful if we could discuss the solution using the Rentacoder chat program, and work through the details of it in real time. Thanks!
