We are a public interest organization, looking for someone to write a plug-in for Outlook (and ideally, but not necessarily, Outlook Express) which reveals the true URLs of embedded links.
See below this boilerplate for bid-specific deliverabiles. This project is a phishing-identification plug-in.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows:
a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
3) Fully functioning self-installing (or with intaller included) plugin for Microsoft Outlook which, when installed, does the following: a) determines the actual URL for any link which appears in an email message, and
b) displays that actual URL inline next to the displayed link, and
c) highlights both the displayed link (in one colour) and the actual URL (in another colour).
LInk which is displayed for the user in an email:
[url removed, login to view]
Actual URL to which the displayed link resolves:
d) information is rendered in such a way that forwarding the email message either retains the information within the forwarded message, or it can be copied and pasted into another email, so that it can be forwarded.
e) if you think of anything which you think that I have overlooked, please let me know!
Windows XP, all current versions of Outlook
Would be nice if it worked with:
other versions of Windows still being widely used.
