I am in the recruitment industry and I have lots of people send me their resumes as a microsoft word attachment. I have had a recurring problem from time to time with microsoft outlook and i would like to know how to fix it once and for all.
I would like advice from a microsoft outlook expert.
When I try to open the attachment which is [url removed, login to view] it comes up with the following prompt:
Can't creat file: resume.doc. Right-click the folder you want to create the file in, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu to check your permissions for the folder.
When I try and save the document it does not allow me to do this
This problem is significant as all my applicants usually send their resumes to me as a [url removed, login to view] attachment. This problem is limited to [url removed, login to view] files as i can open any other microsoft word attachment that has a different title eg [url removed, login to view]
I have been able to fix the problem before by saving my whole microsoft outlook folder as .pst file and deleting the whole microsoft outlook folder and reloading office xp pro. another way has been to create another administrator and transfer the whole pst file to the new user but this affects all my other programs settings.
I know it is relating to a security setting as i have even tried the repair office xp setting, i also took off office xp and reinstalled it and it still did not make a difference.
Please note that I know there must be a simpler solution and I would like help on this one and I would like to know why this particular problem is a recurring one not only on my laptop but my pc too.
