Reporting: C# Windows App with Oracle 10g and SQL Express

# Bidding extended - more requirements came from the client


My client has a large piece of equipment that is run from an Oracle 10g DB. There are 3 tables that we have access to that are used for error logging/reporting. The application running the machine does a 3 month 'rollup' of detailed error data. (you can't get any specific details of a malfunction if it's older than 3 months old - the error just becomes part of monthly/quarterly/yearly aggregated information)

Current Status:

Currently, there is an Access DB that's connecting to Oracle, transforming the data, and is creating several graphs/charts/reports on the error data.

Desired Status:

I need to accomplish a few things:

1. Stop using the accessDB (it's slow and has size limits and we don't want it anymore)

2. Provide a means to filter error data based on shift and/or time(s) of day

3. Continue producing the current bar charts/pie charts/reports (similar to the Access DB)

4. Create an additional report that's specific to certain downtime-based calculations

Progress Toward Desired Status:

1. A Windows app has been created:

1. Used Visual Studio 2005 to create it

2. Written in C#

2. The app has a sql express database:

1. for storing 'intentional downtime' (maintenance, etc)

2. destination for the transformed data coming from Oracle

3. The user can select additional reporting criteria/filters based on error types, dates, and specific equipment

4. The resultant dataset can be exported to Excel.

What's needed to finish:

I have no idea how to use the built-in graphing/reporting functions that came with Visual Studio, so...

1. Need to be able to produce the same graphs/reports/charts that are currently being created in Access

2. Need to be able to create a *new* report (that doesn't exist in Access) based on the filtered data set and certain downtime-related math functions

## Deliverables

I will provide, to the winning bidder, a copy of the current Studio Project, the sql Express DB, the old Access DB, and an excel spreadsheet showing how to calculate and chart the downtime-related data.

## The bidding window is being extended. The client has added additional reports so I need to allow for the current bidders to re-evaluate. Here are the additional requirements:

1. There are 2 downtime-related reports needed instead of 1

2. There are 2 downtime-to-production relationship reports needed based on #1

3. An excel spreadsheet containing all the details for the new reports will be made available to ensure the reporting requirements are clear.
