Hello, I currently manage a small Windows network of about 20 workstations (Windows XP) with one central server (Windows 2003 Enterprise) - hence a small business network. Since I'm not particularly aware of IT security standards and policies and general industry practice, I need someone to devise a a set strategy and assemble logical and needed policies for the network architecture and environment, which the system administrator & employees will need to observe. In general I need the following guidance in the form of an organized document which will serve as our IT Data Security strategy & policy: - Elements that the system administrator will need to ensure that the overall network is compliant with suggestions and setup in a way that is conducive to security and the prevailing standards in industry. - Comprehensive policies that sysadmin will need impart on the network server, & workstations to ensure that it is secure. - Comprehensive policies employees will need to observe to ensure that security is maintained - hence our IT security policy. I will provide details of our existing infrastructure and network layout to the winning bidder. Indicating past experience with a similar job is a definite plus. Also, if you demonstrate that you know your stuff, I may look towards further work in order to implement the policies as well.
