Objective: Send out email from [url removed, login to view] shared hosted site via my ISP ([url removed, login to view]). GoDaddy's tech support is clueless (just like me[g]).
Test site done in [url removed, login to view] shared hosting [url removed, login to view], using Chilkat email components.
**Inbound:** Email is fine
**Outbound**: Questions, challenges
a. If I set GoDaddy's smtp relay setting ON, and use their [url removed, login to view] as the SMTP host, everything works as expected. If I send from the program using localhost on my development machine (after changing the smtp to [url removed, login to view]), then this works fine, too.
b. However, I want to send out mail FROM my GoDaddy site THROUGH [url removed, login to view] ([url removed, login to view]) for a couple of reasons. 1) GoDaddy's number of relays is 250/day (insufficient), although it might be possible to buy more if I have to 2) Just because [g]... learing experience for me to understand the 'pieces of the puzzle'.
c. I think I need an SMPT to send any outgoing email at all, and I think that ASP.net provides one. So, I am trying to figure out how to link up with [url removed, login to view] from my GoDaddy site without their smtp server. Can this be done? If so, how?
