I want to automate my network documentation for various networks (clients).? I have word docs that are formatted the way I'd like the data presented, so I am thinking the data would be stored in access or excel and exported to word?? But if the reports look as good in some other app, I don't care.
I envision being able to choose an existing network or create new, enter the data and then print a report with the data entered on the report.
I MUST BE ABLE TO EASILY ADD / DELETE / CHANGE FIELDS in the reports (and add / delete / change in the database)
on each page is an 'information revision' field.? this should have the most recentl date any data on that page was changed / added / deleted.
for example if the dhcp pool changed, then the information revision field would change to that date.? that way when the page is printed, we can look at that date to know if 1 version of the page is different than another page.? each page would have its own date.? As mentioned before, I need to be able to add fields to the database and report and need to know how to link that field to the revision date for that page.
