I need to know how to create ASX files, with embedded movies (WMV format) and a link to web site.
ASX files for Windows Media Player are a rapper, sometimes used as playlists, usually contain links (http://) to WMV movies on web servers which will they play automatically.
The basic ASX format is like this:
<TITLE>Title of movie</TITLE>
<BANNER HREF=<[url removed, login to view]>>
I don't know what this is for
<MOREINFO HREF="[url removed, login to view]" />
<COPYRIGHT>(c) copyright notice</COPYRIGHT>
<REF HREF="[url removed, login to view]" />
So, basically, if you create a text file with the above code, and a asx extension, it will load "[url removed, login to view]" in windows media player, and it will use "[url removed, login to view]" as a title at the bottom of the movie which can be clicked on.
Information on how to do this is probably on the Microsoft web site somewhere, however I have not been able to find it.
The above is great, but I need to be able to give these type of movies to people on CD rom, and they might not have internet access, so the movie needs to be embedded within the ASX, rather than be linked to exernally.
I have seen this done so I know it is possible.
This is a very important project to me, so top dollar will be paid for the simplest solution. Also, I need to be able to create new movies and embed them myself, so I am not looking for someone to do just one movie - I need to know how to do it.
Needs to work on all versions of WMP newer than 6.4 up to the current.
Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP, XP Pro
WMP (Windows media player) 6.4 to current (9.x)
