Tweak a small program.
The program is to seach for missing information. The information exist in two different table. One of the table has 4 million record and the other table has 100,000 records. There is a third table that has the missing information. This tables has over 8,000 record with missing information that can be found in the other two tables.
Because the program has the search thru the 4 million record the process is very slow. The program is simply using a locate and not a? Seek or IndexSeek. I think this is the solution to speeding up the program but not sure how to setup this up properly in the program. A second problem is that the program is locating information. When the program search key is compare to the key in the? other table it can not be found. For example, I have a search keys that have blank or space in between the key word (Locate for Search field = "ALA 234"). See below
LOCATE FOR ALLTRIM([url removed, login to view]) = ALLTRIM([url removed, login to view])
The program is design to locate missing customer information. This missing information exist in two other tables but one of the table is extremly large(4 millions records). So, the program needs to be optimize to utilize the Rushmore technology to speed up the process. Secondly, the program is skipping information that exist in the two tables. This information that it is shipping seem to be in this format ("ALA 234"). Thirdly, the program need to create a file that holds the existing information. The other table hold the information of the records that were not found in any of the two tables.
When doing a browse for the record in [url removed, login to view] you do not show the records. This is being done in Visual Foxpro 9.0
BROWSE FOR PROJECT = "AZA" AND ALLTRIM(EIN) == "AZA 0072"
The temp table is the new shipment table with one extra column which is the EIN and it can be gotten from the customer table. The program may need to be changed so make adjustment
The program is needing to find the missing shipment information. Since the original shipment table has the orginal missing information. Create another shipment table with the extra column EIN. I have a shipment table which is call a temp table with a EIN. The information to fill the temp table comes from the custmer table. The customer table have the shipping information plus the EIN. Any information that is not found in the Orders or Customer table copy to another table for missing shipping information that has not been located in the Customer or Orders tables.
