Dear Coders,
We require a utility to make it easier to work with DOS network boot images by using PXE. Normally if you require network booting from DOS with network support, you had to source a specific packet driver for each particular network adapter that you needed.
We would like some one to programe a universal packet driver to be used as part of a dos network boot image; that depends on the PXE boot ROM's UNDI transport layer from the network card.
I am not a PXE expert, but my understanding is that when you PXE boot from your network card, the network card loads the PXE boot ROM's UNDI transport layer in to memory. Then DOS is loaded, followed by this universal packet driver application. The universal packet driver will use the UNDI transport layer to specificly communicate with that network card. Making it possible to have a Universal network driver for dos.
Such a product already exists, however due to licensising constraints from EMBoot, we are unable to purchase their product. The website to refer to is <[login to view URL]>.
The EMBoot universal packet driver is exactly what we need, we just need this product recreated.
Once you have forwarded your interest with a quote, then I will forward you more information.
Look forward to working with you.
Peter
