I am in the process of transitioning from an NT 4 network and I need some help converting to a Windows 2000 network setup.... basically starting from scratch since that will be easier than reviewing each user and easier to walk me through.
Here is what I will need:
*How to setup an intranet domain for win2k server - i.e. so users can log into to the domain [url removed, login to view] like we have now
-There are Win 98 and Win 2K machines
*How to setup the PDC and what it's function is
*If I can integrate a Win 2k (Small Biz Edition) server (SQL 2000 server)
*Client setup (if any is needed)
*Remote control setup (for Win 2k user machines)
*Basic explanation of forests, trees, etc.
*How to configure DNS, on what machine it put (since I don't know if the PDC and the server that people log into are the same machine), and if I need DNS forwarding for outside access to the internet
*Active directory setup and basic explanation
And whatever else comes along. I am viewing this as more of a consulting job, so if it takes longer than you thoguht it would, you will be compenstated fairly.
Please let me know if you have any questions about my explanation since I am not extremely proficient in Win 2K network setup.
