I have created an archive for a custom post type and I want to implement an A-Z index filter which will filter posts depending on the selected letter. Example, When a user selects 'A', it returns posts whose title begin with A. If no posts exists for that letter then a message will display informing the user no posts belong to the selected letter
I know that this will involve the posts_where filter and possibly query vars but I don't know how to connect the two.
Just to add the posts in this archive are displayed using as grid boxes using the inbuilt jquery Masonry in Wordpress. So the A-Z index filter should tap into that and paginate the results (query is set to 12 posts per page)
