I have a Wordpress plugin that was created to parse an external website for jail booking records and then import those records as individual post into wordpress along with the image attachment, custom fields and custom taxonomies. The plugin uses Wordpress cron to schedule the run time, allows for the category to import post to to be selected, and also handles the deletion of post that are older then the number of days set in the admin. A note, that the post date and time are set to the dates provided in the data scraped for each booking record. In other words, if the person was booked on 11/15/2009 at 5pm, that date and time were used for the post date.
For this project, I would like the plugin (called Mugsparser) coverted to not have to parse a website with curl but rather for the plugin to use an XML feed that is being produced for me. I would also like a few things tweaked on the (Mugsparser) plug in, including the autodelete feature, which currently does fine with deleting the post but seems to leave associated tags(taxonomies) in the database.
I also use a plugin called More Fields which allows you to set different post types. I would also like this setting added to the (Mugsparser) plugin admin page so the list of active post types are displayed in a drop down list and can be selected for the import.
As for the import coversion, ther will be custom fields and custom taxonomies as was done in the original, however the actual names of these items and the number of items will be different. I will provide an accurate list in a few days.
One additional feature I need is for the imported XML file to be accessed from a local folder on the websserver where the plugin is installed. The path and file name should be easy to set in the code or in the admin. I would like for the plugin to archive the file once it has been processed to an archive folder in the root of the source folder.
Please note that images that will be referenced in the XML file will be in a local folder probably called images, though I am not yet sure on the name. So, the image path for images to be imported should be easily edited.
I am attaching the existing plugin, and also a draft copy of the XML file. Please note the final XML file will be provided in a few days. I am also providing the link to the More Fields plugin so you can see what needs to be referenced on post save in order to file the post under the selected post type and in order to pull back the post type values.

I need the entire project commented in detail and will need to get this project completed in the time specified on the winning bid.
